A new teaser trailer for Jake Gyllenhaal upcoming movie has been released.
The film Road House is a remake of the same-named 1989 picture, in which Patrick Swayze played a bouncer assigned to a storied Missouri bar.
In a contemporary retelling of the classic film, Gyllenhaal plays the lead role of an ex-UFC fighter who ends up working at a pub in Florida when it debuts on Prime Video in March of next year.
The Nightcrawler actor will be starring in Road House alongside actors Billy Magnussen from No Time to Die, Daniela Melchior from Suicide Squad, Gbemisola Ikumelo from Famalam, Lukas Gauge from Euphoria, and Beau Knapp from Super 8.
A compilation video of the newest films and TV series that Prime Video will be releasing on the streaming service in 2024 features the first glimpse of the upcoming movie.
Although the clip only featured a brief shot of Road House, it did feature a sneak peek at a complex fight scene starring Gyllenhaal’s character, which gave fans a taste of what to expect from the action-packed movie.
“Road House is a homerun for us,” said Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios, in a statement upon the original announcement of the cult classic’s 2022 remake. In addition to paying homage to the original film’s audience, it’s a big, entertaining picture.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with this great cast led by Jake Gyllenhaal, and for them to come together to reimagine the classic MGM film as an action-packed adventure for our global audience.”
New seasons of The Boys and Outer Range, the upcoming Fallout television series—a popular video game adaptation—and Donald Glover’s Mr. and Ms. Smith are among the other projects hinted at in the teaser.
The sci-fi movie Foe, starring Paul Mescal and Saoirse Ronan, and the comedy Ricky Stanicky, starring Zac Efron and John Cena, are among the new releases on the platform.
