Cher is talking about growing older and going back in time.
The Grammy-winning singer talked about the 25th anniversary of her 1998 hit song “Believe” in a recent interview with Today, and she stated unequivocally that she is not impressed by the achievement. It’s not that incredible. It makes me feel like a prick,” she exclaimed.
When asked if she and ageing are friends, the burlesque actress, who turned 77 this past May, replied, “No!”
She continued by explaining that she detests ageing in contrast to her late mother, actress Georgia Holt, who “didn’t mind” it (Holt lived to 96 years old). “With a smile, I would give anything to be 70 again!” she admitted.
Cher, who has graced the red carpet, stage, and Fashion Week with her superstar style, spoke candidly about this subject with Good Morning Britain back in September. She disclosed the two pieces of beauty and fashion that she plans to keep wearing for as long as she pleases.
“It’s unbelievable that I’ll turn 80 years old sooner than I would have liked,” she remarked. “I’ll be doing the same things I’ve always done, including wearing jeans and having long hair.”
But don’t count on Cher turning grey any time soon. The celebrity said in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE last year that she probably won’t adopt the salt-and-pepper look just yet. “[Being grey] is acceptable
The sentiment proves that Cher is genuinely not interested in matching numbers to her inner feelings.
Cher continued, “My family has some pretty amazing genes.” “I’m not sure if feeling young keeps you from feeling old. I stay current with fashion. I have a large number of young pals. I also have old pals. I’m not trying to feel young, to be honest. I don’t want to appear young. That is who I am. Simply put, I get along.
